The Board of Trustees (BOT) is the highest governance authority at American Meridian University. The BOT has six (6) main purposes:
Ensure that programs and educational objectives align with AMU mission
Establish the strategic vision of the Institution
Ensure Fiduciary oversight and correctness
Review annually foundational activities such as regulatory compliance, institutional effectiveness and the internal system for quality management
Oversee national and international outreach to other Institutions through initiatives and articulation agreements
Illustrate by example the highest code of ethical conduct
Qualifications for Board Membership
Board of Trustee Members represent the diversity of populations, market segments, clients, and initiatives served by AMU. In addition, Members are qualified by education, expertise or professional practice in two or more of the following categories:
Higher Education Administration, Teaching, or Leadership
Previous Board Trusteeship
Senior Level Public, Higher Education or Community Service
Senior Level Legal, Accounting or Financial Management
First-hand Knowledge of AMU programs as AMU students, alumni or faculty
International Experience in Higher Education, or Educational Initiatives
