Leaders and Lessons Learned from Application of QSM
Students will read case-studies, visit the websites of leaders who have implemented or tried to implement quality systems management practices in their own organizations or in organizations for which they served as advisors and/or consultants, and listen to sessions on lessons learned from the leaders themselves. Health systems students will attend sessions led by health system leaders. The course builds a core competency in understanding the actions that constitute successful leadership in aligning quality systems. The course builds skills in delineating which practices are the ones most effectively employed and why they were successful.
This course is delivered in on-line, on-line, on-site or blended modules complemented by off-line review and assistance.
Deliver graduate level knowledge of leaders and lessons learned from their applications of quality system management principles and best practices in healthcare.
- Teach how leaders have applied quality system principles and best practices and what lessons they have learned in healthcare
- Explain and demonstrate the skilled calculation of return on investment (ROI) from the lessons learned by leaders in healthcare
- Discuss systematic applications to student projects of the lessons learned by leaders in healthcare
