The central competency taught by the course is the ability to understand a process using a process map and analyze a problem using quality system tools such fishbone diagrams and concepts such as value streams, and vocabulary such as tall poles. Relevant skills enhanced by the course are data collection, data analysis, and the use of the define-measure- analyze-improve-control system. Concepts are elaborated upon in required courses and should be integral to the project.

This course is delivered in on-line, on-site or blended modules complemented by off-line review and assistance.
