This course defines Action Research as it is understood in academic inquiry and as it is defined at AMU. Students are provided an institution-wide action research definition and an AMU original, proprietary checklist which both students and Faculty use to evaluate student learning at the end of the program. The course builds core competency in understanding action research. The course builds skills in delineating research which has merit but does not result in action-achieved outcomes and which may be replicated. Students gather research data.

Course Format
Delivered in on-line modules complemented by off-line review and assistance. Where possible, on-site sessions will be offered.

Deliver basic knowledge and best practices of Action Research and Research Collection.

  • Teach how the elements of action research assist in building a systemic approach to process improvement
  • Explain and demonstrate the skilled implementation of action research and research collection
  • Discuss the systematic application of action research
