The course builds a core competency of team building in health systems environments, using extensive examples from military and government healthcare systems. The course builds skills in the use of introductory team data collection tools and their utilizations by the team. Students in the Health Systems Program align team and tool use with traditional health emphasis on improving outcomes and reducing defects. Student teams will be formed to complete pre-established and scheduled designated assignments.
Course Format
Delivered in on-line modules complemented by off-line review and assistance. Where possible, on-site sessions are also offered.
Course Goals
Deliver basic knowledge and best practices of quality-based team building principles and best practices in health-related applications.
Course Objectives
- Teach how the elements of quality-based team building assist a systemic approach to process improvement in health-related applications
- Explain and demonstrate how quality-based team-building assists the skilled calculation of savings from improvements in health-related applications
- Discuss the systematic application of quality-related principles and best practices in team building in health-related applications
